Hello all welcome back. It’s been a little while since I submitted something so here’s something to look forward to 🙂
I’ve been slowly adjusting this project as times gone on and I’ve found myself to my very first Mini Milestone! Yay!
So what does this mean? Well I have uploaded a new YT video of the current state of the game but in this entry I want to breakdown where the game is going and what you’re seeing in the YT Video. So without further a due lets go.Â
The Game with No Name is currently a Game mixed with two different genres. Strategy and Roguelike games. Clash Of Clans Meeting Enter the Gungeon. So far in the project I have created a very primitive village set up where the Playerable Character can move around and jump too. It’s within an isometric game space where players can manoeuvre  the village and see the limited amount to offer which will change as time goes on. I wanted to focus on the Defence towers which you’d see in games like Clash where they are designed to defend the village. Unlike clash of clans I am going to allow platers to customize their village and then move around it seamlessly. No matter what design you have you’ll always be able to move around. This is not done yet of course but this is why the Player is inside the village.Â
Players will also be able to see later that when you upgrade these village items they will show the changes to their mesh render and also have a form of pop animation for details that players can look at.Â
I have a basic AI system which in like clash of clans will be spawned units that can attack the defences and village items during a specific type of Gameplay. The main gameplay element has not been implemented yet but this will come in the next milestone since it in tales melee combat inside a forest filled with all types of creatures.Â
This milestone is very basic but builds a good ground bases for the direction of this project. So you may be wondering what’s next?Â
Well without giving to much away I will be setting up a better player model that will be animated for combat and movement. I will also be adding the main forest playable area where players go to farm resources like gold. Furthermore I will also be adding a tilemapping system that allows for each village item to take up a specific amount of village space which will then prevent spawning inside the village walls.Â
